#RoyalBaby takes over Twitter

As Saturday morning arrived, Twitter was saturated with news of the pending arrival of a new royal baby.

We took a screen-grab of tweets rolling through on the #RoyalBaby hashtag and it is a mere example of the amount of traffic being created by the news.

One Direction fans will have been unhappy to see #RoyalBaby took their global trending conversations down from the No.1 spot (they’d occupied No.1 for some time with a One Direction in Argentina related hashtag).  Twitter continues to be deluged by the news as more of the UK wakes up and checks their timeline, but this is one of those occasions when the traffic is much more widespread.

You can check a host of countries across the planet right now and find that #RoyalBaby dominates the conversation.
